Friends of the Collaborative Learning Hub
Supporting CLH from abroad
"Friends of the Collaborative Learning Hub" is an association (Swiss: Verein) registered in Switzerland with the express purpose of supporting CLH. The Association was founded by Sibylle Freiermuth and Helena Freiermuth in order to streamline and professionalize the support for CLH coming from abroad.
Being a legally registered entity in Switzerland allows the association to open a bank account to collect donations. During the CLH startup phase, donations were routed through Sibylle's personal accounts, which does not align with our goals of professionalism and transparency.
Furthermore, most global crowdfunding platforms are not yet compatible with Zambian bank accounts. Therefore, it is important that we as CLH have an affiliated association in Europe that can help with fundraising initiatives.
Certain institutional donors also require a partner registered in Europe/Switzerland. The goal of Friends of CLH is to help CLH grow into a sustainable organisation that successfully serves the people of Kabanana and beyond.
Our Story
Sibylle spent three years working on educational initiatives in Zambia. Before returning to Switzerland she co-founded the Collaborative Learning Hub as a way to continue supporting educational and safeguarding initiatives in Lusaka. Helena Freiermuth visited Sibylle in 2022 and witnessed the impact of her work. As a trained teacher herself, Helena has been supporting various educational initiatives around the world and believes in the CLH vision and mission. She also brings years of experience in leading associations, ensuring that Friends of the Collaborative Learning Hub is managed professionally and in compliance with industry standards.
